Second to no other farms in Hokkaido – Taiyo Bokujo
It was my first time to Hokkaido, and first time to have holidays like this, meaningful and fruitful. I chose Taiyo Bokujo because it’s highly recommended by other Wwoofers and you really cannot tell how fun it is until you actually stay there.
The farm is located in Monbetsu (in the Northern part Hokkaido) and it took me over 4 hours to travel there by bus from Sapporo. Life there was simple and organized, and that was the life style I had been longing for.
Duties there included feeding, milking and grazing and these were really interesting to me. I won’t say they are easy work, and it’s actually quite demanding physically, but it’s certainly joyful for me. The most difficult job was to feed the baby cows – you need to FORCE them to eat!
I really became an animal lover after this trip (except I am really afraid of Kuma). The cows are lovely, and so is the little dog “Cinnamon”!!!
Katsusan is really a nice person, and he spent his personal time when he should be resting to show us around. We went to Onsen together on my last working day!!! By the way, he doesn’t look like he is over 60 already as he runs really really FAST!!!

Thanks so much. It is really an unforgettable experience for me. I will miss everything there.
